Ind vs Pak live stream of ICC t20 world cup 2014 will be held at Dhaka, Bangladesh.
Pakistan vs India have had competed several times before in World Cup matches, regardless of the format of the game, and India have always been on the winning side. Seems credulous, but that’s how it has gone so far in World Cup events and India always have an upper hand over Pakistan in the mega events so far.
India vs Pakistan Interesting Facts
But let’s talk facts! Considering the recent history, India have been experiencing the worst run in history and even the change in the captaincy couldn’t bring any good to them either. They were on the losing streak, away from home, on their tours to South Africa and New Zealand and they continued with that even in the Asia Cup where they could manage to win only a couple of games i.e. against Bangladesh and Afghanistan. Even the new captain, Virat Kohli, couldn’t really bring any change to their fate.
Another interesting fact is that they lost to Pakistan in the league stage match in Asia Cup where Shahid Afridi had struck a couple of sixes to see his side home with a couple of balls to spare. This means Pakistan would be the favorites going into this match of the World T20 but, honestly speaking, no one is really the favorite in India-Pakistan affairs till the last ball of the match is bowled. There have been lots of such instances and even the most recent Asia Cup match between the two teams was a real example of this.

Pakistan vs India T20 World Cup Match Preview - Pakistan
Pakistani batsmen looked in good touch in most part of the Asia Cup and now they will have to play even more responsibly as they move onto a bigger stage now. Every match will be important and they will start their World T20 campaign with the most important match against India. Pakistan will be eying at Ahmad Shehzad, Mohammad Hafeez and Umar Akmal majorly to give them the kind of start they need in such a high intensity game.
All these guys have got runs under their belt and can play big innings. Shoaib Malik might get a comeback game first up in the tournament and if he does then he’ll have to show some sense of responsibility and anchor the innings in the middle. However, it’ll be a choice between him and Sohaib Maqsood who hasn’t got runs of late and will find it a great opportunity to get his lost form back if he plays against India.
Pakistani bowling attack looks a bit more strengthened with the inclusion of Sohail Tanveer and Zulfiqar Babar. But who gets a game on 21st is still to be seen. Most probably, either of Junaid Khan and Sohail Tanveer will get a game. Zulfiqar Babar is another strong prospect of getting a game against India and if he gets it, he’ll impress with his left-arm spin for sure.
Pakistan Batting Strength
As the two teams meet on 21st of March, Pakistan will be looking at their top order batsmen to perform responsibly and not rush into runs while making sure that they get to a respectable total. They have a balanced squad and it will be a matter of picking up right players for the World T20 match between the two sides. Most likely, it will be Sharjeel Khan and Ahmad Shehzad opening the batting for Pakistan and Mohammad Hafeez coming in at the 3rd spot. But who will be in the middle order is still a question unanswered as far as Pakistan is concerned.
Normally it had to be Sohaib Maqsood, Umar Akmal, Kamran Akmal and then Shahid Afridi. But as Sohaib couldn't give a whole-hearted effort throughout Asia Cup, his position in the playing XI is still questionable. But if he doesn’t play, who will it be in place of him. Definitely, Shoaib Malik will eye a comeback in the very first match of the tournament. Or, if the captain wants Maqsood to play at all then there might be a choice between Malik and Kamran Akmal. So, still a lot of things have to be decided as far as the Pakistani batting order is concerned.
Pakistan Bowling Strength
When it comes to Pakistani bowling, they seemed a bit rusty at the end of the Asia Cup. Now, as they have Sohail Tanveer in the squad, they will have more flexibility in terms of making the right pick. Though Muhammad Talha couldn’t perform really well after his debut, but the fact remains that he was hard to tackle for the Indian batting and will likely be playing in the first match of the tournament. The captain might have to make a choice between Junaid Khan and Sohail Tanveer for the first match of the tournament. Another strong contender for the playing XI is Zulfiqar Babar who has had a good outing so far in his short International T20 career.
India vs Pakistan T20 World Cup Match Preview - India
India will step into the ground under the captaincy of their regular captain MS Dhoni who missed the Asia cup due to his injury but now he’s fully fit and is ready to lead his side through the mega event. The Indians have also brought in Yuvraj Singh and Suresh Raina and this seems to be a welcome change for them as both these sides have had some great track record in this form of the game.
If they click against Pakistan in the first match, then India will make life harder for Pakistan out there in the middle. Some of the batsmen who played in Asia Cup will also be in the spotlight as they played brilliantly in that match for their short innings with the likes of Rohit Sharma, Ajunkya Rahane and Ravi Jadeja. Sharma’s 56 and Jadeja’s 52* were the summary of the day and both these guys will have to play a crucial role for the Indians if they have to take the revenge of their loss in Asia Cup.
Jadeja will have to contribute with the ball as well. But the major threat for Pakistan will be Amit Mishra with the ball as he was almost unplayable in the Asia Cup encounter picking up 2 for 28 in his 10 overs. Besides, R Ashwin will prove to be the key.
India Batting Strength
India will be a stronger outfit than what they seemed to be in the Asia Cup with their regular captain MS Dhoni back and fit to lead to the side against Pakistan. Besides, their squad has also seen a few changes as well. The most important of them is that the left-handed middle order duo, Yuvraj Singh and Suresh Raina, has been brought back into the squad and will likely be getting their first match right as they step into the World T20 against Pakistan.
So, India will be a more resilient side that what they appeared to be a few weeks back. Besides, their batsmen started off well against Pakistan in the Asia Cup match with Rohit Sharma getting back to form and some good blows from Kohli and Dhawan as well. Ajinkya Rahane and Ravindra Jadeja looked good as well and all these guys will create a real impact in the opening Super 10 match of the World Cup as well.
India Bowling Strength
Though Indian bowling has always been a concern for them, but they managed well in the match against Pakistan in Asia Cup and the most threatening bowler for them, who can play a crucial role now as well, was Amit Mishra as he was hard to pick and play for the Pakistani batsmen.
Yuvraj Singh with his slow left-armers will also be handy and the pace attack might also see a change with either of Varun Aaron or Mohit Sharma making their way into the playing XI.
Who will be the better of the other is yet to be seen, but it’s going to be another action packed thriller and that’s for sure.
